RST Race of the Year returns to Mallory Park this October!

The annual end of season RST Race of the Year will return once again to Mallory Park.

This October, the Leicestershire circuit will come alive with racing action, as elite riders from the UKs premier racing championships will battle it out to win the RST Race of the Year and the International Sidecar Race of the Year on Sunday 23rd October.

Mallory Park has hosted the popular end of season event since John Surtees CBE was victorious in 1958; the very first Race of the Year.  This will be the 49th event, and Richard Cooper, Luke Mossey and Taylor Mackenzie are amongst many well-known names set to showcase their skills and conquer the Friendly Circuit in a bid for glory at the 2016 RST Race of the Year.

The management team at Mallory Park have enlisted the expert services of East Midland Racing Association to assist with organising the days racing activities, which will consist of three EMRA Championship Finals including the Buildbase Mallory Trophy final, WAS Auto Centre Sidecar Trophy final and the EMRA CB500s final, and two non-championship open solo races for 600cc machines, and Mini Twins.  The grids for the RST Race of the Year and the International Sidecar Race of the Year will be determined by timed practice.  Cash prizes are on offer for the 1-2-3 finishers in the solo feature race.

Natalie Hansard, for Real Motorsport Ltd says: “It’s great to have the Race of the Year event placed firmly back on the Mallory Park race calendar.  The event is well established, and many racing legends have duelled to take the Race of the Year crown in the past.”

“Regrettably we had to cancel last year’s event, but by combining the RST Race of the Year with the EMRA championship finals, it will allow us to put on a truly varied racing event for fans to enjoy this year, and provide a spectacular end to the 2016 motorcycle race season at Mallory Park.”

Entries for this event are now open, and we would encourage you to complete and return it to EMRA as soon as possible to secure your place on the grid!
